All you need is love with this natural Valentine's Day craft idea to make with your kids
The best you can spend on Valentine's treats for your loved ones is your time. We don't need to buy MORE things to show we care we just ned to make a gesture from the heart.
And what better than to make a little something that combines love and nature?
Here's how to make a nature heart...
• Cardboard - cereal box, packaging, anything you can cut with scissors
• Pen
• Scissors
• String or ribbon
• Leaves, petals, flowers - anything you can forage
Draw a heart shape on the cardboard. It should be about the size of your hand. Cut it out.
Next, cut slits all around the edge, about 1cm apart and about 5mm deep.
Take your string or ribbon and secure it through one slit with the loose end on the back. then wrap it around the heart using different slits to make a unique pattern.
Once you're happy with it, secure the loose end on the back tucking it under or even sticking with a bit of tape. Then take your flora and fauna and tuck it into the string on the front, arranging it in a pretty pattern.
There you go! A beautiful little nature heart to give to your sweetheart on Valentine's Day or any day you want to say 'I love you'.
