Have a really wild valentine with our easy make 3D animal hearts
Walk on the wild side this Valentines with our super super easy to make paper hearts! Make up our animals or there's a blank template to design your own! Let your children play with them or even hang from a baby gym or similar (under full supervision of course!)
Here's how to make a 3D animal heart:
What you need
Print outs
Scissors
Glue stick
Colouring pens (optional)
String (optional)
What to do
1. Print out the download and cut out the hearts. Make sure you don't cut between them though - you should have 2 strips x 3 joined hearts.
2. Fold the plain heart (with no animals on it) behind the middle heart - make sure you don't cover up the animals! Glue it in place. Repeat with the remaining heart so you fold it behind what was the middle heart, to create a double sided heart with animals on both sides. Glue that one in place too. Don't worry, the heads and tails are not supposed to match at this point.
3. Repeat with the other strip of hearts so you end up with two double sided hearts that feel fairly thick to touch/not too bendy or floppy.
4. Cut along the dotted lines, one goes from the point to the middle and the other from the top down. Careful not to cut too far.
5. Slide the two hearts together to make a 3D animal valentines heart!
And there you go! Our beautifully simple valentines themed sensory animal heart. A bit of fun to engage your little ones in the festival of love and celebrate our wild friends out in nature.
Got older ones? or maybe you have a creative streak yourself? Well you can use our blank template to make your own designs. We always love to see what you make so don't forget to tag us on Instagram @the_little_bw_book_project and we will give you a shout out.
